Mainland Football Facilities Plan
The provision of competition and practise facilities is a critical factor to help football remain a strong, vibrant sport. RSL Consultancy was engaged to develop a forward-thinking facilities plan outlining the future requirements of the sport.
Nelson City Council Aquatic Facilities Strategy
RSL was engaged by the Nelson City Council to lead the development of an Aquatic Facilities Strategy. This was the first time such a strategy had been undertaken by the Council.
Lancaster Park Re-development – Spatial Plan
Even with some of the biggest facilities, it is the small things that count. With this project in mind, this was reflected in how older members of the community were keen to see the traditional rose gardens returned to Lancaster Park.
Sefton Community Hall
There has been a Sefton Hall in one form or another on the current site since 1888. The current hall was built in 1961 and had served the Sefton community well for 50 years when it was damaged in the 2010/11 Canterbury Earthquakes.
Lincoln University – Recreation Centre Upgrade
Several years after the Canterbury earthquakes and several reports later, Lincoln University engaged RSL Consultancy to provide recommendations on the future of the Recreation Centre.
Omihi Hall Re-Build – Feasibility Study, Omihi Hall Trust
After the tragic loss of the Omihi Hall in North Canterbury to fire in 2015, we worked with the Omihi Hall Trust Committee (the same set of families who formed the Trust in the 1920’s) to look at what viable solutions were on offer to provide a community hub.
Sport Canterbury Spaces and Places Plan
The plan identified the key strategic priorities for sports facilities to then be used as placeholders in the relevant long-term plans. The plan will help in ongoing cross boundary discussions and includes key principles, criteria and prioritisation across the majority of sporting codes.
