Sefton Community Hall

There has been a Sefton Hall in one form or another on the current site since 1888. The current hall was built in 1961 and had served the Sefton community well for 50 years when it was damaged in the 2010/11 Canterbury Earthquakes. We worked with the Sefton Public Hall Society Incorporated to identify what options existed to provide the community with a facility that would serve another 50 years. The options open to the Society were broad and one of the key roles of the study was to provide impartial objective guidance to narrow those options down to a preferred solution.

An affordable new build on a new site as part of a combined hub was recommended and unanimously adopted by the Committee. We wish the Committee well in completing the new hall and providing an essential asset for the Sefton community for the next 50 years.
