Bryce Pomfrett
Senior Consultant
Bachelor of Planning, Post Graduate Diploma in Business, Full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute.
Bryce has over 20 years’ experience across local government planning and strategy roles. For the last 10 years Bryce has focussed on developing investment strategies and partnership initiatives across the community sector with a particular focus on community place and space initiatives. A significant amount of Bryce’s recent work has required leading project teams achieving success by fostering a collaborative culture. An example that highlights this is Bryce’s leadership of the walking and cycling “AKL Paths” digital project that was awarded the 2019 Sport NZ Commercial Partnership Award.
In recent years as Head of Service Strategy and Partnerships Bryce has led the “delivering differently” strategy for Parks and Community at Auckland Council seeing adoption of a $575 million programme business case. This has led to the establishment of innovative new partnerships with central government and philanthropic organisations to further sport and recreation facility provision. Bryce has also led and developed data and insights functions to ensure a sound evidence base to support robust options and advice to decision makers.
Bryce is married to Rachel, and together they have two daughters. His spare time is taken up with riding his road bike, fishing and spending time with friends and family. He’s also working on getting his guitar playing to a campfire standard.
